Facility Name: University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, VT Total # of Facility Beds: 597 Unit Name: EMERGENCY Department Total # of Unit Beds: 65+hallway Teaching Facility: Yes Teaching Hospital Experience Required: Yes Trauma Level: Level 1 Prior Travel Experience Required: Yes ** Ideal but may look if RN has worked in larger teaching facilities and more than one ER ** Minimum # Years Clinical Experience Required: 2 yrs. Minimum # Years Clinical Experience in Specialty Required: 2 yrs. Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, Epic Certifications Preferred: CEN, ENPC, MOAB or Pro Act or some other de-escalation training such as CPI Nurse Patient Ratio by shift: 1:3-6 depending on volume and acuity Scrubs/color: any color, provided by RN, also hospital provided scrubs Documentation System: Epic Medication System: Pyxis Self-Scheduling: No Weekend Requirements: Every other or the equivalent of Call Requirements: Volunteer Holiday Requirements: Yes, depends on time of year, would expect at least 2 of the major winter holidays, like other staff does, as well as the other holidays in the year. Special Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, ISTAT, Bellmont Rapid infuser, Ventilators/ Bipap/HFNC managed by RT Unit Specific Procedures and Protocols: IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG, transport to ICUs-critical care or psych holds; other typical ED care. (No ECMO, no IABP they will go to ICU) Additional Unit Specific Information: Average census can be > 200 patients/ day. Providers include ED attendings, EM residency programs, PA support staff; EMTs can do (IV, phlebotomy, EKG, tele transport, etc.; RT; Pharmacist; Mental Health Techs 1:1 psych pts, also psych specific RNs; sexual assault RN program with 24/7 on call coverage Cross training available Pay rate is estimated based on weekly gross income.
